Books

There are many books on the subject of yoga. There is much helpful and interesting information to be gained from them. I have provided a list of my favorite books on yoga.

Audio Tapes and CDs

I have tried many audio tapes. They are helpful for doing yoga practice. They have the advantage of being convenient to use anywhere you can bring a tape player. I find them more difficult to use, though, because sometimes the instructions are not very clear. Some tapes come with a diagram of poses that help you to understand the instructions. I have included a list of audio tapes I have tried with my opinion of them. I have also included several audio CDs of yoga and meditation music. When I do my own yoga routine, I like to play quiet, relaxing music at the same time; I feel it helps to set the mood and keep my mind centered on the yoga postures.

Video Tapes and DVDs

I have purchased many video tapes for practicing yoga. Most of them are very good. I prefer video tapes to audio tapes because it is easier to understand the instructions and follow the routine when you can see the instructor going through the postures. I have included a list of video tapes I have tried with my opinion of them.

Internet Web Sites

I have included many internet web sites that I have found useful and informative. Many of them, also, are sources of yoga material such audio tapes, video tapes, and books.
