| This is a very good book for beginners. It includes two series of exercises; one for the beginner and another for the intermediate beginner. I especially like the unique binding which allows it to stand up on a table or on the floor so you can follow the illustrated directions while performing the postures. It also contains some very interesting general information about yoga. | |

| This is a very good and useful book for putting together a 20-minute yoga workout. A 20 minute workout is fairly easy to fit into a busy day while longer ones are not. This book includes a basic workout in addition to workouts for special situations and it explains and illustrates the poses in each very well. | |

| This is a very good yoga manual for beginners. It has lots of basic information, plus several programs of exercises for different levels. All the postures are thoroughly explained and illustrated and have variations for beginner to more advanced. There are also programs of exercises for special situations like pregnancy, stress relief and improved sports performance. The book is spiral bound which I like because it will lay flat to easily follow directions for the postures. | |

You can select the cards with instructions, pictures and guidelines for one of the included routines or combine just the ones you want to do. I use them all the time. | |

It contains basic information about yoga and instructions on more than 40 poses for beginners and intermediate students along with several basic yogic breathing exercises. I especially like the many sample workout routines from 5 minutes to 40 minutes long and the posture suggestions to prepare and enhance sports performance, to exercise specific areas of the body, and to benefit many health conditions. | |

| This is an excellent book and I highly recommend it. It is a very good introduction to yoga with lots of interesting and useful information. I especially like the chapter on designing your own yoga program based on the amount of time you have each day to spend doing a yoga routine. It also has a very good resource section at the end with lists of many types of yoga organizations, lists of sources for yoga props, and lists of yoga web sites, books, audio and video tapes. | |

It includes a very good chapter on the theory and philosophy of ISHTA yoga. The book outlines two series of beginners programs with illustrated photos and instructions for those plus additional poses and variations.
